West Side Story Ratings & Reviews
- Greg LucasMarch 13, 2025Classic. One of the finest.
- Eric BakkeMarch 4, 2025West Side Story (1961) has its flaws, primarily in some of its casting choices. However, despite these flaws, West Side Story persists as a masterpiece and remains one of the greatest movie musicals ever made. The film's brilliance shines through in its choreography and dancing, which are undeniably some of the best ever captured on screen. Jerome Robbins’ innovative choreography, paired with the dazzling and energetic performances of the cast, transforms every dance sequence into a visual feast. The athleticism and artistry of the dance numbers, such as “America” and “Cool,” are still considered the gold standard for musical choreography.
