We-Fi

Directed by Claire Hanna
We-Fi is an eight-minute comedy about Lauren and Maxine, a young couple with reckless spending habits. Just like the rest of us, they are hopelessly dependent on Wi-Fi. They need it for Netflix, they need it for Google Deep Dives and most importantly, they need it to pay their rent. So, you can imagine their frustration when they realise that the Wi-Fi they've been 'stealing' from their elderly neighbour, Leonard, has stopped working an hour before their rent is due. Running out of time and facing certain eviction, Maxine convinces Lauren that their only option is to break into Leonard's house and fix it themselves. What would otherwise be a fairly simple heist becomes ridiculously complicated when they realise that they're not the only ones who have broken in.
