Waiting... Ratings & Reviews
- Matthias_812April 5, 2025Wholesome crude fun. Waiting... is the goofiness of Clerks, structured like Dazed and Confused, and raunchy with that dated offensive noughties humor. It's easy to see why this can be put down, my level of comedy is basic so this gets to me. The cast is excellent with some decently known stars and everyone gets their moment here mixing the various personalities to come together for a day at Shenaniganz.
- maximusJuly 9, 2025Although I was the target audience when this first came out and indeed regarded this as one of my favorite adolescent comedies, watching it today is really quite difficult... even just the first 5 minutes are painful to get through. I can totally respect that this was the prescient humor of the 2000s. I lived through that decade as a millennial and this was comedy gold back then. Ryan Reynolds' popular crude sarcastic comedic style is on full display here. The problem with how this holds up is the fact that it narratively hinges on misogynistic and homophobic jokes that receive lots of laughs and high-fives. One could argue that the crude jokes are the whole point of the film. The fact is they aged like cottage cheese.
- RyezooFebruary 15, 2025What a disgustingly unfunny movie. The whole cast, full of actors I love, are the most unlikable protagonists I've seen in some time. I was a waiter for 6 years. You think this movie would be perfect for me. They get all the right situations down, but boy is the execution a mess. I laughed twice during the entire runtime. 20 mins in and they are still going on about the godly unfunny dick game. This movie should of been 86'd from existence.
