Varsity Blood Ratings & Reviews
- CallumNovember 18, 2025⭐⭐☆½ – Varsity Blood – Friday Night Lights… Out Varsity Blood is the kind of slasher that feels like it was written using a checklist titled “How to Make a Perfectly Average Teen Horror Film.” High-school setting? ✔️ Holiday framing? ✔️ Athletes and cheerleaders being picked off? ✔️ A twist reveal you should see coming but somehow don’t? ✔️ There’s nothing here you haven’t seen before — which isn’t necessarily a bad thing if you enjoy comfort-food horror. The acting is serviceable, the masked killer is fine, and the kills are… kills. No creative flourishes, no shocking gore, just exactly what you'd expect from a mid-budget B-slasher. It’s the sort of movie you throw on when it’s late, you’re tired, and you just want something you don’t have to think about. You probably won’t remember the characters’ names, but you’ll remember that one moment near the end when you go, “…ah, of course it was them.” A harmless, forgettable entry in the cheerleader-chop-fest catalogue. 🍿 Pairing: Cheap stadium nachos — lukewarm, slightly artificial, but somehow exactly what you expected.
