Valkyrie Ratings & Reviews
- Charles LondonMay 16, 2025This mostly engaging film starts a bit slow but then gets going when Operation Valkyrie is initiated. Alas, a tiny fly in the ointment spares Hitler his life, allowing the carnage of WW2 to continue. He believed it to be divine providence, thus signaling him to continue his work. Sadly, millions more would die in Europe over the next 9 months. The pensive "what might have been" is weighty, indeed. The acting is top-notch throughout. No disrespect to Cruise but I view it as an ensemble cast of very fine actors, not the least of whom is Tom Wilkinson. Any movie with TW is better for it. He is sorely missed.
- RyezooFebruary 20, 2025A very interesting film that never matches the full potential of what it could be. It was cool seeing Tom Cruise in a different light and there were some intense scenes in this movie. Unfortunately almost everyone in the cast pales in comparison to Cruise. It was hard to get on board with almost all these characters and feel invested. It was well shot but won't be that memorable when thinking about WWII films
