- Patrick WaiMay 6, 2026This is basically a prison-yard, bargain-bin Rocky built almost entirely to get Michael Jai White and Scott Adkins into a ring, and honestly, that’s enough. White is a terrific fighter and Adkins is equally fantastic as his Russian nightmare opponent, but the movie clearly knows the real reason anyone pressed play: the fights. The plot is thin, the villains are weak, and the whole thing has such a strong ’90s action vibe it practically smells like a Blockbuster shelf. Still, it’s fun, occasionally a little touching, and probably the movie that announced Adkins as more than just background muscle. It takes a while to get to the good stuff, but once it does, it delivers.
