Weird Al decided he pretty much nailed it the first time with this inspiration for Intergalactic Cable.

The single greatest film of all time

“Is my face red!” Loved the “shows”. The main story was a fun B-movie! The war stuff was undeniably great. Makes me wanna rewatch Hot Shots and see if it holds up If I create a time machine, I’ll probably become a creep that travels to 1978 to see if I had a chance with Fran Drescher (I would be age appropriate in this scenario) Added to Slapstick Fantastic

Great old movie everyone should watch. Michael Richards is brilliant

Rented this one on video, back when cover art promised chaos and Weird Al delivered. Al plays George Newman, an unemployed dreamer who stumbles into managing a failing UHF station. What follows is a glorious descent into parody, low budget brilliance and channel surfing madness. The station becomes a hit thanks to offbeat programming: “Wheel of Fish,” “Raul’s Wild Kingdom,” and Stanley Spadowski’s mop fueled rise to stardom. Michael Richards is unhinged and hilarious and Kevin McCarthy chews scenery as the corporate villain. The film is packed with movie spoofs, surreal gags and the kind of humor that feels like it was written by someone raised on Twinkies and late-night TV. I liked the DIY spirit, the absurdity and the way it made rented nights feel like a cult comedy treasure hunt, with mop speeches, Rambo riffs and a finale that’s pure underdog joy.

Extremely campy with pretty bad acting but still hilarious. And old guilty pleasure that I enjoy every time I see it.
