- Movies are good22May 29, 2025"I loved my boy from the moment he opened his eyes, Till the moment you closed them." I finally watched it after procrastinating on watching it for over 2 weeks for some reason I finally was able to put that Blu-Ray in & press play & I got to say very much exceed my expectations but at the same time, also kind of disappointed me Let's start with the best & also maybe the worst aspect about the movie & that is everything to do with Brad Pitt like there was literally nothing wrong with this movie when Brad Pitt is on screen my engagement level would go all the way up to 100% & my enjoyment level goes up to over a 100% just everything to do with Brad Pitt in this movie is perfect & also, it just helps that Brad Pitt just gives maybe his best performance ever, here like in just every metric, it was a perfect movie when he was on screen so you think that would make this movie at 10/10 for me, since he's the main character but he honestly doesn't have a lot of screen time in the first half like if you only watched the first half of the movie & turned it off I wouldn't blame you for thinking Orl&o Bloom & Eric Bana were the main characters & also, it doesn't really help that the stuff outside of Brad Pitt always starts to get really good when Brad Pitt starts to appear more often so you have like the first hour / hour & a half, that's kind of just solid but you're kind of just left there waiting for when Brad Pitt would come back really the only other character that would keep you entertain in that meantime was the “FUCK OFF!” God himself, Brian Cox but everything outside of those 2 aspects, we're kind of just decent like it was still good but it was nowhere near as good as when Brad Pitt was on screen The other thing about this movie I love is the 2nd half cuz everything is just so much better in the half not only do you get more Brad Pitt but also all the stuff outside of Brad Pitt was also extremely engaging & wasn't just decent & the 3rd Act, man WOW Anyway, those are my thoughts I didn't go in expecting me to make a review at all like this but I'm happy I did cuz I think it's kind of interesting how one singular character is kind of the glue that's holding this whole entire film together which is kind of something I have never really noticed to this extent before So if you're like me & you just have the over 3-hour cut of this movie just lying around & you’ve just been putting it off because of the runtime (even though, just like me, you know you're used to 3-hour run times, but you just keep procrastinating it just because of that) then be like me & finally just bite the fuckin’ bullet cuz even though you might not be fully entertained in the 1st half you are rewarded with maybe Brad Pitt's best performance ever & also a pretty fuckin’ great 2nd half Overall this movie really like showing Brad Pitt almost completely naked
- The Gutter MonkeyMarch 16, 2025A cool and gritty take on the Iliad, exchanging the magical and mythical for a grounded story that feels like real history.
