Transformers: Rise of the Beasts
Directed by Steven Caple Jr.- Terry PhanSeptember 25, 2025Final battle was unlike anything I’ve seen in a Transformers Movie. Whenever watching the Transformers always look forward to the very end because the battles are so well done. Optimus Prime, Mirage and Bumblebee (even though he didn’t get that much screen time) were upon some of the best characters in the film.
- ZokkiieMarch 11, 2026It’s big, noisy, and occasionally fun, but it never really sticks. The action is fine, but the story and characters get lost in all the chaos. A few moments shine, but most of the time it just feels rushed and messy. Sad, this is what we got after how good the Bumblebee movie was—Bumblebee had heart, this just feels like nonstop spectacle with little soul. You enjoy bits of it, but mostly you’re left wanting something more.
- jackmeatFebruary 14, 2026My quick rating - 6.3/10. I am always game for some good, mindless action. And the latest in the franchise, Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, delivers a fresh take on the iconic universe that should please long-time fans and newcomers alike. Deciding to go with less established actors instead of more familiar ones was bold, and it still finds a way to lift itself up via an interesting storyline and outstanding special effects. It also takes a bold step by minimizing the role of humans in favor of the true stars of the show – the Transformers themselves. As I have said, we have a more coherent storyline than in some of the other sequels. We also get the introduction of the Maximals and Predacons, in addition to the Autobots and Decepticons, which gives us a more stacked lineup. After his success with Creed II, Steven Caple Jr. brings in the new characters in a way that seamlessly integrates them into the pre-existing Transformers universe, giving the franchise a much-needed boost. Rise Of The Beasts totally avoids any complex subplots, making it a much smoother and more entertaining film. The special effects are simply awe-inspiring. The detail and realism achieved in the different Transformers on the screen are simply mind-boggling. The blending of the CGI and practical effects of the giant robot characters makes their movements and interactions appear real. The action-packed sequences are a treat to watch, showcasing the progress that has been made in technology since the birth of the franchise. The boldest and most welcome move is to reduce the significance of human characters. Though in the previous Transformers movies, the human perspective was given prime importance, in Rise of the Beasts, the emphasis is given to the robots. This is a fantastic chance to explore more about the connections, reasons, and histories of the Transformers, which has always been a fan’s demand. Although the human characters are not relegated to the background, the Transformers are in the limelight and receive the attention they deserve. So if you are looking for stars like Mark Wahlberg and Megan Fox, you won't be finding them in this flick. I must admit that I was a little nervous about the casting of unknown actors in the key roles, but the acting in Rise of the Beasts shows that talent can overcome familiarity. The actors’ chemistry was just right, and they seemed to be having a ball. The unknown actors bring a breath of fresh air to the movie, which is in line with the direction this movie suggests they are taking. For me, it was a step down from Bumblebee. Still, this movie is a major improvement for the entire franchise, and I found it more enjoyable than most of the other sequels.
- Kevin WardJuly 2, 2025Story, narrative flow, and balance of human/ transformer story threads, all feel much more aligned with the Bumblebee film rather than the Michael Bay iterations. I laughed way more than I remember laughing at any previous Transformers film, too. “Work friend? You were inside me!” Enjoyed all of those elements. It feels like the franchise has found it’s footing. Don’t call it a comeback. Speaking of....The 90’s nostalgia machine has achieved full power in 2023. Seems like every other film that comes out is steeped in it. (not me complaining--I’m all for it). The film is far from perfect, though. Dialogue in some of the expositional scenes are laughable. (the planning scene before the final battle sticks out as one such scene). The VFX doesn’t always look all that great. I’m not sure if that’s attributable to Bay not being at the helm, or if it’s a product of the state of overworked visual effects departments across the industry. And fake deaths...unfortunately this has them. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not rooting for a Transformers: The Movie level genocide of favorite characters; but fake deaths are so emotionally manipulative, personally, they drive me crazy. Overall, really fun time at the theater. Had my two youngest kids with me and they both really liked it. I think if you liked Bumblebee, you’ll vibe with this film. Lastly, the audience lost their f🤩king minds when they teased the next film at the end. Certainly ends the film on a solid high note. I’ll be in line for the next one, for sure.
