Tombstone Ratings & Reviews
- naren shenoyDecember 10, 2025I’m revisiting this movie after nearly 20 years since my last viewing. I remember as a teenager that grew up with the Spaghetti Westerns, that I had high expectations for this movie, but left the theater feeling a bit underwhelmed. But then everyone kept referencing Val Kilmer in this role, and it became an iconic/pop culture role for him. I watched it again in my early 20s, appreciating it more, but still underwhelmed. Here I am in my 40s and watching it with a different lens. And I loved it. The opening sequence in particular is very reminiscent of the Spaghetti Westerns. And even though I had not seen the movie in decades, I practically echoed “Aw Hell” with Wyatt when Josephine walked in…. so apparently it did sink in, I just did not realize it. I also now appreciate the star studded cast with many actors and actresses becoming household names today. I never saw the other Wyatt Earp so cannot compare the two as many so often do. But I guess that is a commentary in and of itself
- Doc HolidaeApril 2, 2025Many people assume that I chose my nickname because of Styles P, but the real inspiration comes from this movie, it's where I decided to call myself "Doc Holidae". It's spelled differently, of course, but 'Tombstone' is my all-time favorite Western of all-time, and Doc Holliday is one of my favorite characters (second only to The Joker)... I’m your huckleberry! 😉 Still think that's one of the coolest scenes in movie history... R.I.P. Val Kilmer!
