Thor: The Dark World Ratings & Reviews
- HumptyFebruary 23, 2025hmm not like the first one and so many confusing things.
- mickerdooJuly 14, 2025Not next level or anything but enjoyable. Always love Portman.
- HakihikoMarch 6, 2026Spectacle Without Substance "Thor: The Dark World" is far from a disaster, but it feels like a step down compared to the stronger early entries of the MCU. It's serviceable entertainment, nothing more, nothing less. The performances are solid across the board. The cast does what it can with the material, and there's commitment even when the script doesn't offer much depth. Visually, the film looks good as expected: the production design and effects give the cosmic elements a convincing scale. The biggest issue lies in the writing. The script feels superficial, offering little meaningful development for Thor or for the broader MCU. The plot moves forward, but it rarely feels essential. It lacks weight, and the stakes never fully resonate. The comedy works at times, but the tonal shift is heavy compared to previous films. Humor isn't the problem; the imbalance is. Some moments feel forced, breaking the dramatic tension rather than enhancing it. Overall, "Thor: The Dark World" is watchable and occasionally entertaining, but it lacks substance and cohesion. Not bad, just underwhelming.
- flavo43November 26, 2025Thor: The Dark World is one of the MCU entries I’ve always felt uncertain about. It isn’t a bad film—there are enjoyable moments, solid performances, and great visual effects—but overall it feels a bit unfocused and uneven. The plot jumps between realms, tones, and character arcs in ways that don’t always connect smoothly. And while the Dark Elves are certainly part of Marvel’s comic lore, their portrayal here feels underdeveloped and oddly bland for a franchise known for memorable villains. With the vast catalog of threats and mythological elements available in Thor’s world, it felt like the story could have gone in a more compelling direction. That said, Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston remain strong anchors, with Loki once again stealing many scenes. The movie has flashes of emotional depth, especially regarding Thor’s family, and the action sequences are well executed. The Dark World is watchable and entertaining, but compared to other MCU films, it never quite finds its footing.
- Harish CousalDecember 9, 2025A messy cosmic detour but still kinda cozy. Thor and Loki’s brotherly chaos carries the weight. The villain fades, yet the vibe stays watchable. Not great, not awful — just comfortably in-between

- Evan HatchJuly 25, 20256.4/10 Overhated movie. Sure, the villain wasn't super memorable and the visuals were bland at times, but I thought it made up for it with its character dynamics and decent story.
- rivers_reviewsJune 15, 2025I have this movie at a 3.5/10 so 2/5 stars is generous considering how boring it is and how bad Malekith is.
- gradientorangeMay 25, 2025the worst thor movie, but it’s watchable
- Matthew SyvinskiFebruary 18, 2025it was a good movie and there were parts that were a bit boring but at least there was action in the movie and it looks good still today haha
- parktool69December 1, 2024i dont like thor, too man
