Thor: Love and Thunder Ratings & Reviews
- RyezooFebruary 5, 2025It’s an okay movie. Just wish it felt like it had purpose. Some funny moments… some really unfunny ones. Fun seeing Natalie Portman return to the series. I thought Christian Bale was a great villain with not enough screen time. In all I hope Marvel finds its footing again.
- mickerdooJuly 24, 2025Entertaining fights, great villain, some funny banter. But ultimately suffers from unwillingness to go dark. Gorr deserves an R rating.
- loco21July 7, 2025Thor was great, till this. They tried so hard to make it funny…
- Kevin WardJuly 7, 2025Thor: Guns N Roses I really loved Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher. His performance combined with the look of the character was easily my favorite part of the film. Would have loved if he had been given even more screen time. As for the rest of the film, it’s definitely quite funny. I love Taika Waititi’s comedic sensibilities, however, the humor here pushed the comedic tone a bit too far. Much of the humor I would characterize as being silly or goofy as opposed to merely being funny. The comedic tone makes it hard to feel like there are actual stakes here. Combine that with MCU’s inability to truly kill any characters and there are truly no reason to fear any kind of death. I think there are at least 5 characters who die, or have an apparent death, or are dealt a mortal wound, who find a way back to some form of living by the end. It is absolutely my least favorite movie trope. All that being said, it was a good time at the theater. The visuals are rather fun to look at, and it’s great to see Natalie Portman get a meatier (mightier perhaps) role this time around. And I definitely laughed quite a lot. Even though I don’t think those laughs serve the story or the greater MCU very well, I can’t deny that it made this an enjoyable watch. I mean, I think I laughed audibly at the goats…..every…..single……time.
- Spaceman JoeJuly 3, 2025Biggest step down ever. We had it all
- JozzApril 1, 2025I can't decide if this is a good or bad movie. Reminds me to Kung-Fury a lot (and this is a good point), but I have the feeling that hilarous, seriousness and stupidness are not properly well mixed... and you can feel some intention on it, but mostly feels like... not? Hard to say, Waititi really confuses me here. If i flat my brain and stop trying to understand it... Kung-Fury comes back again... dunno... This kind of humour for me is like you should go all in or not, black or white, no greys, otherwise it can feel like a failed attempt from both sides.
- frohbMarch 13, 2025The only good thing about this movie is Christian Bale, and still they've fucked up this villain story...
- DevasinNovember 29, 2024It has a good movie within though I feel some parts are unnecessary and pull away from how the other movies were.
- hawk99gtOctober 31, 2024Made Thor look like a weak idiot. Far cry from the first Thor movie. They could have made this the best movie with Gor the god killer story line. But failed just put woke agenda in the forefront.
