The Tank Ratings & Reviews
- EithanJanuary 3, 2026I’m not usually a fan of foreign films where I have to read subtitles, but I put this on thinking, “I’ll give it a go,” and I was hooked from the very beginning. I just kept watching, and before I knew it, the film was over. The action sequences were great, the characters were engaging, and the story was pretty solid too. I really enjoyed it. Highly recommend it to any tank/war movie lovers!
- Brandon WinfieldJanuary 31, 2026Beautiful shots. Ending makes the some of what I thought was “creative writing” make significantly more sense. Cinematography: 10/10 With that being said. I felt at the end as wanting more. Just another second to let it all.. sink in you know? Instead I was very immediately meet with the credits. The end of the story was great (not amazing) but a minute or 2 more (even if just silence/aftermath) to take it all in would have made the ending a lot better. Overall: Absolutely worth the watch. English Dub is nearly perfect.
- JkrilinJanuary 5, 2026Der Tiger begins with an intense premise: a German crew in a Tiger I tank receives a secret mission behind enemy lines during World War II. The film delves into the claustrophobia of the tank, the psychological stresses of its crew, and the brutality of the Eastern Front. Visually, there are powerful moments, and the intention to explore the characters' internal conflicts alongside the moral weight of war is ambitious. However, the execution leaves much to be desired: the pacing feels slow and heavy, the narrative is unclear in its direction, and the story, although it could have been profound, ends up being confusing and disjointed. Scenes that should be impactful lose their power, and overall, the film fails to connect emotionally or maintain interest as one would expect from a war drama. In summary: the film has ideas, but it fails to develop any of them effectively.
