The Taking of Beverly Hills Ratings & Reviews
The Stranger (Seattle, WA)
Chase Burns
This film is trash, but it's beefy trash.
Midwest Film Journal
Nick Rogers
A bonanza of practical effects & pyrotechnics, and a reasonable replication of the "Die Hard" formula before it became the Hollywood default. It's also perhaps the only action film in which the hero can make his play because he's mistaken for a dog.
IONCINEMA.com
Nicholas Bell
Unable to maintain the compelling strands of its B-movie narrative from jump, lovers of Die Hard knockoffs and early 1990s cinema may find this of interest, while those hoping for a portrait of Los Angeles from the period will also be disappointed.
Cinapse
Ed Travis
This film captures four times the excess of Die Hard on a quarter of the budget.
