Directed by Zoltan SpirandelliThe diagnosis is frightening: Konrad becomes infected with dangerous hospital germs during a harmless leg operation. His wife Maja is in a dilemma: the recently graduated molecular biologist has just started her first job - in the clinic that treated Konrad. The work goes well, and together with her team the ambitious researcher makes an important discovery. Clinic director Professor Adler is very pleased with her. But he would prefer to sweep her husband's case under the carpet, especially since an independent hygiene report shows no shortcomings in his hospital. Meanwhile, Konrad's condition deteriorates dramatically. He has to give up his job as a gardener, withdraws more and more and indulges in dark thoughts. Maja tries to find out on her own how Konrad could have become infected with the multi-resistant germs in the clinic. In doing so, she comes across frightening deficiencies in patient care.
