When his only friend and co-worker dies, a young man born with dwarfism moves to an abandoned train depot in rural New Jersey. Though he tried to maintain a life of solitude, he is soon entangled with an artist who is struggling with a personal tragedy and an overly friendly Cuban hot-dog vendor.

Received such high rates... but for me it was dull, boring, slow. No part of it hooked me and made me want to watch more. It was mediocre at best.

This is a thoroughly charming little movie with slightly off-kilter people slowly interacting with each other in a small town. Peter Dinklage is Finn, a soft-spoken man with a simple desire to be alone, and pursue his hobby of chasing trains - although he finally admits to people that he is really not a “train chaser: because he doesn’t have a camera, and he never learned to drive. The fact that he’s a little person doesn’t seem to bother anyone but himself, as I am sure a life time of being gawked at and asked strange, uncomfortable questions has taught him to avoid people. After he inherits a small “Station” in a small town, the local townsfolk slowly become part of his life. They all had their quirks, as does FInn but the film moves along at a very slow and deliberate pace. This remarkable film was shot in 20 days on 16mm film - truly a remarkable feat in modern terms, yet is never feels rushed or artificial. The movie doesn’t startle you with deep meaning mysteries, or twists - it’s just meant to sit back and enjoy the oddities of people from all walks of life. Just enjoy the simplicity and really think about that cross you think you bear - you might think your’s is the worst to deal with, but others may disagree..
