The Staple of News Ratings & Reviews
Floating World
Dustin Chang
We only get the glimpse of Suzanne's life every 5 or so years, not in a calculated way, but more fleeting, observing someone's life with a sense of melancholy. This way, Quillévéré eliminates a feeling of being manipulated that comes with filmmaking.
Filmmaker Magazine
Vadim Rizov
Recreating the '90s solely with flannel shirts and Hole cues is a neat trick, but Quillévéré never seems to figure out the point of everything she's filming.
Reeling Reviews
Robin Clifford
The film starts of a bit choppy as the transitions between the years are sudden and confusing. This settles down as the story begins to flow and Suzanne's life altering mistakes take hold.
Film-Forward.com
Kent Turner
What remains within the trim and speedy 94-minute time frame is often riveting. It's like watching a car wreck in slow motion.
