The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie Ratings & Reviews
- Tavan CergnulliMarch 8, 2025Oooooooo who lives in pineapple under the sea
- Tom MajskiNovember 15, 2025I mean whats not to love. Its Spongebob. In seriousness though this one is a great story that just cracks me up everytime i watch it. The flip flop between animation and live action is used to such graet effect especially when dropping in small parts from the likes of David Hasselhoff playing himself. The humour hits just right as does the 'scary' bits for kids. I watched this with my 4 year old daughter and with a few cuddles we got through it laughing all the way. Highlights include instantaneous mustache growing, the bar fight and every scene with plankton in it. Spongebob is just so consistantly endearing, but it can never get more than a 3.5 / 4.0 from me because it really doesn't do anything new. I'm not sure I even want it to I just enjoy knowing what to expect.
- clunkymugSeptember 29, 2025I like SpongeBob SquarePants It is very good and very funny
- Naegi WellsAugust 27, 2025A classic. Over the course of 21 years, followed by 5 movies from the same franchise, this is by far the best SpongeBob movie. It's fun, it feels distinct from the show while also feeling incredibly accurate to it, and it's just a blast to rematch every now and then.
- Manuel FrangisMarch 23, 2025I just watched The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie again and I give it 5 out of 5 stars. This movie is an absolute classic. If you grew up with SpongeBob like I did this movie hits all the right notes. It is everything that made the show great but turned up to the next level with even more laughs, bigger moments, and a lot of heart. The story takes SpongeBob and Patrick on a wild adventure that pushes them way outside of Bikini Bottom. It is the kind of quest that feels totally ridiculous and completely epic at the same time. From the first few minutes the movie pulls you in with its energy and never lets go. The stakes are bigger, the jokes are louder, and the animation looks amazing. SpongeBob is in top form here. He is goofy, lovable, and determined. You see him grow throughout the movie while still being the same SpongeBob fans know and love. Patrick is right there with him bringing his usual clueless but hilarious energy. Together they make such a good team and their friendship is one of the best parts of the entire movie. The humor is just nonstop. It has the perfect balance of weird, silly, and clever jokes that work for both kids and adults. There are so many laugh out loud moments that still hold up no matter how many times you have seen it. The writing is sharp, and the timing is perfect. The animation is awesome. It still has that classic SpongeBob look but everything is a little more polished and detailed for the big screen. The colors pop, the underwater world feels bigger, and every scene is full of cool visuals that make the whole movie feel special. It is exactly what you would want from a SpongeBob movie in terms of style. One thing I really love is how the movie captures the spirit of the show but also feels like its own thing. It is not just a long episode, it is a full movie with a real arc and actual growth for the characters. You feel like you are going on a real journey with SpongeBob and Patrick, and the payoff at the end is awesome. The music is great too. There are some original songs that are super catchy and totally fit the SpongeBob vibe. There is even a couple surprise moments that take the music in hilarious directions you would not expect. It all adds to the fun and keeps things fresh the whole way through. The pacing is fast and fun. There is never a slow moment. The movie keeps moving with new locations, new characters, and constant jokes. Even the emotional moments are quick and heartfelt without dragging anything down. The reason I give it 5 out of 5 stars is because it delivers on every level. It is funny, exciting, heartfelt, and completely true to what makes SpongeBob so special. It is a perfect mix of chaos and charm and still one of the best animated movies ever made. Overall The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie is a must watch for fans of the show or anyone who just wants to have a good time. It is hilarious and full of personality and reminds you why SpongeBob became such a legendary cartoon in the first place. I loved every second of it and I will always come back to this one.
