A widowed field mouse must move her family -- including an ailing son -- to escape a farmer's plow. Aided by a crow and a pack of superintelligent, escaped lab rats, the brave mother struggles to transplant her home to firmer ground.

- Jacob O’NealJuly 16, 2025I am an unabashedly big fan of Don Bluth. I love his work. He was an innovator when it came to crafting games like Space Ace and Dragon’s Lair. His movies connect with audiences and get ruined by sequels out of his control like Land Before Time. With that said, The Secret Of NIMH is a dark story packaged as if it was for kids but this was inspired by one of the worst experiments ever conducted through science. Look up the “Mouse Utopia” and you’ll see where NIMH came from. It’s a sad and disturbing story about these poor creatures. Knowing that makes a dark story even darker. But it’s also beautiful at the same time. The cell drawn animation was near flawless. The voice acting was great. Funny enough, it featured Wil Wheaton and Shannen Doherty in early voice roles.
