The Rocket Boy Ratings & Reviews
- ርልዪረFebruary 8, 2026Only 5 half-hour episodes of this series were made, with SCTV veteran Dave Thomas as the video store clerk with the title secret identity. Other SCTV members Rick Moranis and John Candy made cameo appearances. There was a lot of clever writing and genuinely funny jokes. After 11 years, I still remember the gag about Rocket Boy's super talking helmet that would give him invincibility, the ability to fly, etc., but was so loud he couldn't wear it (and he didn't like how it made his hair look like he just woke up). His enemy was a villain called "The Hawk", whom Rocket Boy imagined had a hawk-like head and beak, but instead turned out to be just someone with a big nose. When Rocket Boy tried to race across space to save his girlfriend, the ship's automatic safety system (Moranis) shut the ship down and made him watch an hours-long lecture on safe flying. Just about any Sci-fi or SCTV fan would get a kick out of this show.
