The Resort Ratings & Reviews
- jackmeatJune 15, 2025My quick rating - 4.3/10. It wasn't a terrible ghost story. The scenery was damn good looking. Definitely some impressive locations in Hawaii to be filming in. The 4 young adults that go to check out an abandoned haunted resort could also use a trip to acting camp, but that would be another flick. This time, they do find the urban legend of the "Half-faced girl" and her grisly murderous ways. For your standard ghost flick, it was decent up until a pretty disappointing ending. Nothing new though, average really, so check it out if a fan of the genre, but don't expect a whole lot.
- cloudsrivalJune 13, 2025Generic and mundane. I'd like to say that some of the special effects at the very end were good for an indie, but it does not justify the inordinate amount of nothing that happens at the beginning. The film is barely 70 minutes long, yet 45 minutes of it is literally just talking and complaining. 25 minutes is all we get for tension, and it's so rote that even the actor for Chris checks out from acting. He's also associate producer, yet his performance makes it ssem like he is straight up done once they hit the hour mark. With the amount of establishing shots and TV ad music, this movie is more like a feature-length travel ad for Hawaii than a horror movie. If you're looking for a good horror movie with plot and world-building, then this one is your LAST resort.
