The Resident
Directed by Antti J. JokinenIn New York, Dr. Juliet Bliss Devereau of the Brooklyn General Hospital has ended her relationship with her boyfriend Jack and is seeking an apartment in Brooklyn to live alone. She finds a bargain in an old apartment building owned by the handsome and lonely Max and one night she misinterprets his signals and dates him. However she concludes that it is too soon to have a love affair... but is that really the end of it?

- DARTH VADERJanuary 11, 2026I really enjoyed this thriller, I thought it was watchable, engaging & suspenseful. I thought it was very well paced, it's less than an hour and a half, which benefits the movie a lot, it gets in & gets out and doesn't overstay its welcome. The Acting from both Hilary Swank and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is so good, that it elevates the film as a whole. I thought the secret locations that Max built behind the walls were very creative and kept the movie interesting! I really like the apartment setting and suited the movies tone, atmosphere & concept! The last Act of the film was very eventful and had a long drawn out fight and struggle, between Juliet & Max our protagonist & antagonist of the film, which is awesome for a movie like this. And the ending is very satisfying as well IMO. However the main issue I had with it, is how Max got Juliet there to that apartment in the first place, through a set of circumstances that he made happen and setup, I didn't fully buy it tbh. And with a movie like this, you've got to ignore & look past the illogical bullshit that just wouldn't play out like that in real life. Overall this is a movie that I think, is quite underrated and is 💯 Recommendable!

- tjcta5October 26, 2025I liked this movie mostly for Hilary Swank and Jeff — they did great. It’s a little slow in parts, but still interesting enough to keep watching.
