- Junior ReyesDecember 25, 2025Its a Christmas Classic I have to say that I adored 'The Polar Express'. It was just the sort of film I needed to truly get me into the Christmas mood. The story revolves around a young boy, who is coming to an age where he is doubting Santa Claus' existence, until the Polar Express- a magical train destined for the North Pole- takes him and a group of other young children on a journey to Santa and to reaffirm their faith in Christmas. I had reservations about the use of CGI animation since I felt it really only worked for stories about cute animals but having seen the film, the CGI was the best way to capture the spirit of the film. It really wouldn't have worked as well in live action, the sense of other-worldly magic would have been lost. And as it was, the artwork was beautiful, especially the snowy mountainous scenery that the train passes through. This film took me back to my childhood and that tingly-feeling every child gets on Christmas Eve in anticipation of Santa's visit. The story was sweet and innocent without being nauseating, and I think every one of us can empathise with the boy who wants to believe in Santa but is growing away from the innocence of early childhood and faith in magic. Much like Raymond Briggs' 'The Snowman', I predict 'The Polar Express' will go down as a Christmas classic. It certainly makes a pleasant change that this year's Christmas film was actually about Christmas and I hope they make the re-release of this film an annual Christmas event.
- Stefan LeonteDecember 25, 2025Great Christmas movie
- TomVaderDecember 25, 2025The animation is weird, the characters unlikeable, and the story depressing. If I never see this movie again, I'm OK with that.
- DdoughnutMay 17, 2025The human designs are terrifying. This is an unintentional horror movie.
- perk633December 25, 2025It’s a Christmas classic. Dim down the lights, turn up the sound and make it your yearly festive feel good film whilst loving to hate the brat who has the glasses who knows it all!
- thomasrogers753December 25, 2025The Mo-Cap animation is ROUGH looking back at this Never will forget the found memories I get from this film Tom Hanks puts the film on his BACK
- Steven DiazDecember 31, 2024Perfect movie night with a good classic movie with my wife and son
- Daniel TisserandDecember 24, 2025Annual family tradition to watch
- MastermmmDecember 23, 2025'Tis the season to indulge in unrelenting cringe that quite possibly might have you praying to the porcelain god. Have you ever had that feeling that something was just really, really off? Well, this movie encapsulates that feeling more than I could describe in words. Get ready for mind-blowing, chillingly uncomfortable scenes and actions from poorly rendered CGI characters, a vast array of Tom Hanks' astonishing voice overs, and adolescent characters consistently making ridiculously poor decisions that would normally lead to a fatal end. I bumped my initial rating of half a star to one star thanks for the mesmerizing 3D-eqsue scenes that made me feel as if I was enjoying a thrilling ride at one of the top theme parks in the world (no really, I did actually enjoy those).
- THE THING720December 6, 2025A Christmas classic! I am a tad biased, having grown up with this movie, but for me it is charmingly clumsy and beautifully creative. The symbolism, the foreshadowing, the attention to detail all place this movie as a top 5 Christmas movie for me.
- Daniel RomneyDecember 21, 2025Great story and music. Animation style is a little unsettling and really takes away from the movie at times.
- mattcartlidgeDecember 19, 2025Great film. Could do with a remake but it’s still a classic!
