The Perfect Nanny
Directed by Dietmar KleinHis beloved wife has been dead for two years now, and Edgar Strack is feeling overwhelmed: raising his growing children Emma, Mike, and Doro; his time-consuming job as a management consultant at a large Leipzig-based consulting firm; and, last but not least, his relationship with his girlfriend Barbara, who is already in the midst of planning their engagement. In his efforts to juggle all of his responsibilities, Edgar has already alienated several housekeepers and nannies. Not only that, but his children are also more than frustrated by his father's unreliability. His girlfriend Barbara feels abandoned, and there is widespread gossip about him within the company. His rival colleague, Andreas Behrens, takes advantage of this overwhelming situation by backstabbing Edgar in an important acquisition deal so that he can secure the contract and the coveted senior partnership position in the company. Edgar is furious and fires the interpreter Ana, whom he sees as responsible for the debacle, but who was merely used by Behrens. For Ana, the job search now begins all over again. When Edgar's youngest daughter, of all people, meets and befriends the spirited young woman with Brazilian roots, Edgar and Ana's paths cross again. Since Doro's siblings are also impressed by Ana's uncomplicated and loving nature and besiege their father, Edgar has no choice: He offers his recently fired colleague the position of new nanny. A good decision for everyone involved, as it turns out, because suddenly their household and careers are running smoothly again - and Edgar and Ana also grow closer on an emotional level. A fact that doesn't go unnoticed by Barbara. So she spins a perfidious plot to win back her almost-fiancé and get rid of the annoying rival once and for all.
