A casa está sempre na penumbra e nunca se pode abrir uma porta sem fechar a anterior. Quando os criados desaparecem sem qualquer explicação e são contratados novos empregados, várias situações bizarras começam a acontecer...

- James Saenz12 de abril de 2026i honestly felt pretty disengaged from this film for a good chunk of the middle. the beginning sets up a fun premise with a morbid atmosphere, but something about the middle hour just felt so very familiar in a way that bordered on derivative. it feels like it was heavily influenced by henry james’ the turn of the screw, which isn’t a bad thing, but i think having experienced various adaptations of that story all my life i was a bit weary of it here. thankfully, amenábar’s directing and kidman’s performance pulled me in by the third act, and the conclusion was very satisfying. denial and love and longing exist at the core of all good ghost stories, and this really captured that.

- melonstack16 de agosto de 2025Slightly slow fuse, but you are gripped until the end. The acting, camera angle choices, and creepy score make for a chilling experience. Several moments had my body filled with tingles. Watching in surround sound is the only way to do this one. Enjoy!
