    Truly feels like the 90s

In hindsight this movie is almost propaganda for ‘Return To Office’ mandates.

One of my favorite movies of ALL TIME. Great plot, great performances and very close to reality. Sandra Bullock is one of the all-time G.O.A.T.

I’ve always felt like Sandra Bullock was meant for roles like this. Prob here her best movie. A great watch I. The 90’s and equally as good in 2025.

Feels like a time capsule from the early internet days — a bit cheesy, a bit silly, but kind of fun because of it. The story stretches logic pretty hard, but it moves along fast enough that you go with it. Sandra Bullock makes it watchable, and if you’re in the mood for something light, slightly ridiculous, and nostalgic, it does the job. Not great, not bad — just a decent, casual watch

I dunno that I buy the plot or the villain, but I'm charmed by the old Macs (sucker for 90's tech) and Sandra Bullock. A generous three stars.

The Net is an interesting time capsule of ’90s cyber-thriller paranoia, and even though I enjoyed it, its depiction of hacking and digital warfare often leans into unrealistic fantasy. That’s the biggest problem with movies like this: the “movie version” of cyber attacks ends up looking flashy, simplified, or implausible when the actual reality—identity theft, data manipulation, endless vulnerabilities—is far scarier. Sandra Bullock carries the film well, giving charm and credibility to a character whose life is erased with the tap of a keyboard, and the broader themes of digital dependence and privacy loss still hold up today. But with just a bit more realism and technical research, the film’s suspense could have been even stronger. You can see the potential for a genuinely chilling story underneath the Hollywood embellishments. As it stands, The Net remains an entertaining thriller that’s surprisingly prophetic, even if its tech isn’t quite believable.

Nothing really special movie wise and the computer hacking has aged quite badly but what lifts this movie is the star of the show Sandra Bullock who makes this film all the more watchable.
