The Midnight Meat Train Ratings & Reviews
- Stairwaytothestars4d agoVery suspenseful and kept me engaged.
- Kevin WardJuly 7, 2025This is a pretty wild slasher with some over the top gore moments, some of which are really great and some of which the CGI blood looks not really great. Lots of fun stuff here though. Maxwell Silver Hammer make some absolutely crushing kills with that mallet. There’s some gruesome eyeball action we haven’t seen since The Last Matinee, too. After one night on the Midnight Meat Train, even our Vegan Photog Bradley Cooper couldn’t resist a little Midnight Snack on Leslie Bibb’s rump roast. )) 👀 I honestly didn’t expect this to have some A-list ass eating. My second time this year, after Deep Water. I would have liked more Brooke Shields, I think this would have been an awesome project for her if she had taken a more prominent role. At times, this feels like it’s taking itself a little too seriously, but that can be forgiven. I loved the final fight where they’re smashing and slicing into the hanging bodies in the train, including their pal Otto. He’s just dangling there helplessly getting sliced up. What a way to go.
- 匚卂尺ㄥFebruary 14, 2025Some people did not like this movie and rated it with one star. I may understand this, because it is so intendedly different to standard occidental horror movies as it can be. For me, and for this reason, it is simply awesome. A different narrative, a different look, and a different mythology. It starts as an apparently predictable story, but the twists and the amazing looks very soon make all the difference. As for the transfer, it is just perfect; the grain is that of the high-sensitive negative chosen by the director, so it really is cinematographic. Some people seem to think that the purpose of the blu ray is to be crystal clear no matter what; I totally disagree. For me, it is to be as close to the original concept and aspect of the movie as possible, and this is just the case here. Plus a nice bonus: the sound comes in an impressive 7.1 mix, with trains going all the way from the rear to the front and vice versa. With more movies like this, one wouldn't have to look to Asia all the time in order to find something interesting, original and entertaining.
- shawnc21June 21, 2025Whoa this is one of my favourites from director: “Ryuhei Kitamura” Screenplay by: “Jeff Buhler” Based on: “The Midnight Meat Train” 📕 by: “Clive Barker” 🐐 also produced by: “Clive Barker” The story is incredible and was hoping they show us the back story of the Reptilian creatures who live beneath the city in the sequel or a prequel that would be epic.
- dr7843March 13, 2025Great movie
- SpanktacularFebruary 19, 2025Great movie in spite of being named after the local glory-hole bar.
- DigitalDisappointmentFebruary 13, 2025Dumb, nonsensical ending. Should have been left as a short story. The parts where they decided to deviate from the original feel different and cheapen the whole experience.
