- dyk633d agoJust rewatched after a long time. Great characters (helps to have superb book to work from), and solid story-telling from Jackson and co. Great scenery, solid music, good action war scenes with effective changes of pace, and a hint of horror / splatter to help. The effects are only … just … starting to date, but are still very good.

The acting is some of the best and most captivating you’ll ever see, the set design is absolutely stunning. I usually struggle at watching long movies, but the whole time the movie drew me in kept me enticed. I actually felt sad to see it end due to the grasp the story had on me.

From the perfectly casted lineup and even one particular transformation to subhuman that perfectly portrays the most depraved and vulnerable aspects of the human condition this is one of those film series that everybody has seen because it is that good. If you haven't, stop, do not watch another thing, grab a popcorn 🍿, and start the adventure now! I view this saga as one film split into 3 parts. That being said.. 9.4/10

- Mister ArnMay 13, 2025Each time I watch this movie I'm amazed how it was able to bring to life Tolkien's middle earth. We watched the extended version and you need to be ready to commit lots of time, but it's worth it.
