Probably one of the better films that show how veterans are addicted to the chaos of war.

A movie that caught me by surprise. There's plenty of opportunities for suspense amidst the rather harsh-experiences of soldiers at war that probably throws the typical family man/woman for a loop. Jeremy Renner delivers a phenomenal performance overall. This movie deserved the accolades and nominations it earned - a rare feat for Hollywood.

It was a very suspenseful movie and it holds its own among other high ranking war movies. That being said, it felt like "a day in the life of a bomb diffuser" series rather than a drama film. There really was no underlying story, so each scene felt disconnected from all of the other scenes. That being said, I appreciated the departure from the formula movie pattern.

The movie was great. But there were tons of ads. The movie was supposed to be about 1 1/3hrs long but with the ads it was close to 3 hours.

Just watched the (2026) don't believe I've not watched it before. Really good film, showing some real human frailties without all the yeah-hah of a typical gung-ho war film. Well worth a watch.

Probably as good as a modern depressing war movie can be. Very much in the same vain as Vietnam war movies, this is sensationalized with the intent of condensing every terrible thing that can happen in war into 2 hours. You won’t feel good watching it and that’s the purpose. Mission Accomplished

A gripping film that keeps you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end.

Basically a film about a slightly crazy bomb technician (diffuser) performing a crazy job under crazy conditions. Bigelow does a great job of creating tension and suspense, and she gives us plenty of it. She also examines the men inside the protective gear and combat fatigues on personal levels. Frankly, I would like to have seen more of this, even if it made the movie longer. Be aware that the environment for this story is dismal and joyless, but that simply comes with the nature of the material. If you're game for it, the movie can be a rewarding experience even if you don't feel good afterwards.

We don't always have the chance to appreciate great films, at least not from actual times. But this should be considered at least a jewel of the latest motion picture history. This is a near-perfect kind of film that shows the difference between some men who are used to work as a team and other man who rather play hero on such a dangerous situation as war itself. It also says a lot about war becoming an addiction for someone, and how that can turn into the most important thing in someone's life. I don't think these are words enough to describe how great this film is. Kathryn Bigelow, in my opinion, deserves the Oscar due to a wonderful development of her job as film director and, i probably think this should also be the best film winner too(i have no problem with Avatar or James Cameron, i do think they deserve the best special effects academy award, among others...). Jeremy Renner is another pretty amazing discovery, i can't make up my mind between him or Colin Firth(A single man)on who should win the best actor academy award.

An outstanding movie. This was the 2nd time I've seen it and I think it was even better than the 1st time. And Jeremy Renner was awesome as usual. A definite four thumbs up 👍👍👍👍.

Presenting The Adreline Junikes, sad story of alpha males broken by the bankers wars, good movie

Some argue it's an American war propaganda piece through and through. But I found it to paint a fairly honest picture of how war forces those on the front to cope, and how many parts of them that get lost in the process.
