The Gunfighter's Son
Directed by William DuncanJeff Scott, a quick and determined fellow, who has been brought up by foster parents unmindful of his father's record, is so outrageously bullied by Sam Carey, that he gets a gun, but declines to use it after having the drop on Sam. The latter, a human hound is not compunctious over plugging his generous adversary, and is sentenced to serve time although his marksmanship is not fatally accurate. After some years' service he escapes from prison, captures Jeff's little girl and leaves a note that he has left her at the mercy of the wolves. Again the blood-blot fills the brain of Jeff and he reaches the man who tried to kill him and then robs him of his treasure. The thrilling fight in which he casts aside the temptation of a gun to evoke vengeance with his naked hands, stops just close enough to the dim border of tragedy to make the over-true tale telling and intense.
