- Hadi Koleilat2026年7月18日Scott Derrickson's The Gorge (2025) stars Miles Teller, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Sigourney Weaver in a sci-fi romance about two elite snipers stationed on opposite sides of a mysterious gorge, forbidden from making contact while guarding an unimaginable threat. Teller and Taylor-Joy share effortless chemistry that grounds the film's emotional core, while Derrickson skillfully balances suspense, action, and romance with striking visual flair. The screenplay introduces compelling ideas but rushes through some of its mythology, leaving intriguing questions only partially explored. The haunting score and atmospheric cinematography create a constant sense of unease, though uneven pacing and abrupt editing in the final act lessen the impact. Even so, The Gorge delivers enough heart, spectacle, and originality to stand apart from typical genre fare.
- Kieran Bacon2026年6月7日Its an alright film - good visual action, intriguing atmosphere, attractive actors, and very as you'd expect. The story is very foreseeable, and that isn't helped by the fact that the adverts for this film also gives the game away. The story and the writing all feel overly forced and rushed. The main characters relationship is too forced - the story below is too inorganic. The reasons behind the larger parts of the story seem so much like they were shoe horned in. Like the original writer put down a list of ideas and then built the film from those bases, and never stopped to thing to take out some of those ideas, or that not all of those ideas needed screen time. As a result it seems formulaic. In so doing, you don't feel afraid for the characters or the situation, its easy to guess the next twist, and there is no damager. Overall though, enjoyable to watch.
