I first saw the original on VHS back in the '80s, and revisiting this follow up felt like flipping open a time capsule. The comedy remains delightfully physical and innocent. I didn’t expect The Gods Must Be Crazy II to hold up, but it did. It's a quirky, kind hearted sequel that expands the desert playground without losing its soul. It’s a little messier, a little more ambitious, but still full of warmth, wonder and wild encounters. For me it was another unexpected delight but maybe it’s nostalgia talking,
