Where to Watch The Godfather Part III
- craigg75March 8, 2025I don't know why this one gets so much criticism. I found it to be one of the better Godfathers. Sophia Coppola is not the best actress but her part was minor, a love interest and daddy's girl. Her part did not impede the movie at all for me. My only complaint is that it did get slightly confusing who was who and why they were on the list to be killed. I really enjoyed Michael's struggle to be legit but keeps getting dragged back in. His regrets in later life and trying to not be a failed human in the end. I did not view the recut version which has a more effective ending. All in all this is a great movie, great acting, great story and a nice send off to this trilogy.
- ZokkiieJune 4, 2026After two all-time classics, this was always going to have an impossible job. It's easily the weakest of the trilogy, and some of the criticism it gets is fair, but I still think there's a good movie here. Michael's story remains compelling, and seeing him wrestle with the consequences of everything he's done gives the film some real weight. Vincent ends up being one of the movie's biggest strengths. Andy Garcia brings a lot of energy to the role, and his presence helps carry parts of the story that might otherwise drag. The real standout, though, is Connie. Watching her transformation from the vulnerable sister we met in the first film into someone who fully understands and embraces the family business is fascinating. Her arc feels like the natural payoff of everything that came before and, honestly, it's the highlight of the entire movie. It doesn't reach the heights of the first two films, but judged on its own merits, it's a solid and often underrated conclusion to the Corleone saga.
- Jay Marie BaileyJune 17, 2026Difficult to be objective with this movie considering how strong parts 1 & 2 are. It is certainly the weakest of the 3 but tells a good story in itself, the only way really to give it a fair review would be to treat it as a stand alone rather than part of a trilogy. The final scene at the opera is very dramatic and worthy of the final act of the trilogy.
