First of all, forget the IMDb score you saw, it means nothing. This film should be viewed in conjunction with "House of 1000 Corpses" and/or the whole "Firefly" collection. That being said, if you have done that, and you still don't understand why this is one of if not thee greatest slasher horror collections of all time, then I challenge your understanding of the genre. This is a masterpiece in art direction and perfectly pays tribute to the beloved marriage of rock & roll and 'slasher' horror in practice as well as the soundtrack. With the implementation of two of humanity's most diabolical fears: the circus nightmare angle and the original psycho-southern "took a wrong turn" angle that the film's inspiration "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was critically acclaimed for. In his film debut Rob Zombie manages to transcend his music stylie to the silver screen with a sense of art direction you might expect from a 70's veteran. "House of 1000 Corpses" plays out almost like an intro to the pièce de résistance that is "The Devil's Rejects" so be sure and watch them together. You can even throw in "3 From Hell" after a break if you get a chance, but it's more of a 'post script' and certainly not required. "Like Clowns don't cha?" 🤡🔪🩸 House of 1000 Corpses: 8/10 Devil's Rejects: 9.6/10 Firefly Collection 9.1/10

This is Rob Zombies best offering to the screen ever and the best of the trilogy. I don't know why this one surpasses the other 2 so well. Likely timing. The first one didn't really know what it wanted to be and was all over the place with Bill Mosley Just rehashing chop top from TCM2. This one has firm lines and is a genuinely terrifying concept with evil people that make no bones about who they are. Bill Mosley and Sid Haig work well off of each other and Bill as Otis brings in his best performance ever. Even Sheri Moon zombie isn't as annoying as Zombie has that horrible curse that Clint Eastwood and Charles Bronson had of putting their spouses in every movie they were in whether they were a good fit or not. But it doesn't lag has good kills and ends well with a great sound track. Leaving the 3rd installment for ten years was a bad idea especially as Sid Haig (R.IP) was too ill for anything but a cameo but still delivered even months before passing. This is a great stand alone film

Looking for a slasher type this is the movie you're looking for, robzombie never disappoints, not much of a story line itself to follow, your more following the murders on there getaway from law enforcement and watching the chaos unfold wherever they go. Definitely not for the faint of heart's.

A relentless, blood-soaked road trip that turns horror into a wickedly unhinged family reunion.

“It’s ironic, don’t you think? Nazi, the state of Israel?” Vengeance can be all-consuming It’s better to burn out than to fade away. And even better to reignite afterwards as the 3 From Hell. Fathom 20th Anniversary Event Saw this poster when it was released and I was a “good” little Catholic boy and I was so intrigued. Watched it in secret when it came out on DVD from the video store. Had to move around the house to not get caught and I’m glad I didn’t bc explaining that assault scene at that young age would not have been easy. ANYWAYS Loved Rob’s intro. Perfect. Wish he had mentioned how the Sheriff is off the rails like in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (Bill Moseley !!! ) Opening score is so insidious and subtle I’ve never really noticed. And the creepy talking during the silent parts of a rare, very good horror shootout! S-tier opening credits Perfect soundtrack and I don’t even like this kind of music Will forever love that Tommy Pickles is a sex worker in this. And then Brian Posehn as a folk roadie !! And Doofy as the deputy! And the Unholy Two! Spaulding’s a good guy. He let that kid go. And that lady from Carrie I was alone in the theater until about 5 minutes before Otis and the gun assault. Love too experience that discomfort with others Every scene is essential. I love them all. Love the dreamy music during the reunion right before the end !! Every line from Otis is so fucking good ugh the death match quips are all-timers Just love how casually it makes you start rooting for the worst people in the world. So funny and so good (But also it’s incredibly easy to root against cops!) The guy that says “Fuck Groucho” is clearly the actual villain tho 💯 Note: Went to the lobby to eat a hot dog and scan my ticket and ended up right back in the same seat I was in for Dead of Winter lmao “Any port in a fuckjn’ storm”
