The Descent Ratings & Reviews
- ghost0neMay 16, 2025Maybe... don't go into a cave that isn't on any maps. Just a thought.
- DJOctober 28, 2024A “modern” classic. The Descent is horror perfection. It’s claustrophobic, it’s scary, you feel for the actresses and they do a great job immersing you in the experience. Director Neil Marshall did amazing work with this film.

- RyezooFebruary 16, 2025Until they got into the cave, I thought this film was leaning towards pretty bad. I never found the characters extremely compelling or well developed and it was paced very slow at the beginning. That being said, once hell breaks loose in the claustrophobic cave the movie wins me back. The cinematography does a great job of making you feel like the characters have no where to go. The lighting whether it be from a flair or a giant glow stick made for tense and creepy environments. The first real scare had me audibly scream "holy shit" and I dug it! After that though it turned more into a thriller sort of survival flick. The monsters lost there scare a bit after seeing them several times. I also thought the editing was a little choppy. Now for the ending, I understand there's two versions and I prefer the US one hands down better than the U.K.
