From the onset this film reeks of woke Australian government arts funding. In god's name how Chow Yun Fat and Michelle Yeogh agreed to this cliched, revisionist 'glory to brave western jouranlists' rubbish is beyond me. My guess is there was an opportunity for the Australian Film Finance Commissionto support Australia's pody GFC efferots to sell as much iron ore as possible to China and DFAT directed investment to suck upto Chinese nationalism and this is the result. Art? Hardly.
