The Captive Ratings & Reviews
- abbey4266@yahoo.comJuly 6, 2025Kind of slow, but a worthy watch.
- Stairwaytothestars1d agoUnbelievable script! Do any of these directors watch their own movies?
- djkit8July 21, 2025Ryan Reynolds portrayed an excellent dramatic role ; one I am not used to seeing him play. Storyline was a bit bizarre. Would have liked to see more of Bruce Greenwood. Was not sure if the lady detective was found alive or not once they opened the door. Wish that Cass could have skated with her partner again at the end of the movie.

- 匚卂尺ㄥMay 5, 2025The Captive is probably my favorite Ryan Reynolds movie besides the Deadpool films. The Captive is almost a 5/5 almost but sadly there was one glaring problem that stops it from getting a full star rating. The Captive stars Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool) as a father who lost his daughter years ago and years later she starts to resurface. Reynolds is great in the movie and brilliantly portrays the depressed father. Alexia Fast (Jack Reacher) plays Reynolds's daughter and has amazing chemistry with her father it's like they were actually father and daughter in real life. The movie also stars Rosario Dawson (Daredevil) and Scott Speedman (Underworld) as these two cops who are investigating the disappearance of Reynolds's Daughter. Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek) plays a minor role in the movie. The villain of the movie played by Kevin Durand (Real Steel) who in the movie is basically a child predator, thankfully they don't show anything explicit in the movie because people don't watch movies for that kind of stuff. My main problem with this movie is the whole cop subplot in the middle of the movie, just didn't work for me and I thought it distracted from Reynolds's story. Overall check this movie out if you like Ryan Reynolds, and if not then there's no talking to you.
