ある嵐の夜、イタリアの漁船が洋上に漂う意識不明の若い男を発見する。引き上げられたその男の背中には弾痕があり、皮下にはマイクロカプセルが埋め込まれ、それにはスイスの銀行の口座番号が印されていた。男はなんとか息を吹き返すが、記憶を失っており、自分の名前も分からない状態だった。数週間後、彼は身元の唯一の手掛かりであるスイスの銀行に向かう。その貸金庫にはジェイソン・ボーン名義を含め6ヵ国のパスポートや大金、そして拳銃が入っていた。やがて暗殺者たちに狙われ始めた彼は、偶然出会ったマリーの協力を得てパリへと向かうのだった。

- Jakeys2025年12月26日Austin Powers gets credit for rebooting Bond, but I think this movie deserves it. Die Another Day came out the same year. Seriously, it's a super interesting thriller wrapped in a mystery, Matt Damon absolutely delivers and is believable as a spy with amnesia, Franka Potente is equally believable, and there's a great supporting cast too - especially a small but incredible appearance from Clive Owen. Note also Walton Goggins in a blink and you miss him background character too. Finally, one of the best car chase scenes in a movie, set to one of the best soundtrack choices.
