- Ray HopkinJuly 19, 2025This is a movie I watched as a kid, and had recollections of it being dark, frightening and really enjoyable. Watching it again some 40 years later, and it hasn't lost any of that, still dark, frightening and really enjoyable! Over the years I've heard many people criticise this movie as boring, or not having the familiarity of other Disney movies. I don't really get the boring argument, I think it's a pretty thrilling movie, with the Horned King so evil as to make the story quite unpredictable. And I think that the departure from typical Disney fare works in its favour. A great little adventure of a movie that stands up to the test of time, in my opinion.
