- Doctorthunder144March 5, 2026I thought it was funny as a kid and there are still some moments but its pretty stale and dated in the humor department.the humor was probably dated even for when it was released in the 90s. Poorly misrepresented southern people as well. This is one the weaker 60s TV shows to get a 90s movie remake. I hate the Brady Bunch but it probably had better remake than this.... As far as the cast, I love Jim Varney and he did a great job as jed. I like Lea Thompson but she will always be Elaine Mcfly to me.
