- Cinema 470February 22, 2026This was a solid, entertaining action film that unfolded slowly, and held my interest throughout. The cast of familiar and unfamiliar faces were all very captivating. Really, this could be described as a superhero movie where the main character's superpower is autism, or at least the savant aspects of it, coupled with focus, discipline, and perseverance (or perseveration). His moral compass is a little off, but hey! nobody's perfect. Well worth a watch.
- PeanuttJanuary 5, 2026The Accountant works not just because its Christian is lethal, but because violence is the only environment where he is psychologically at home. He is split between two levels of complexity, civilian life overwhelms him with ambiguity, social theater, and emotional guesswork, turning his traits into liabilities. Combat strips the world down to objectives, threats, and procedures, and in that stripped reality he becomes precise, fluent, and almost serene. The film’s power lies in this contrast, not in romanticizing his competence but in showing it as a tragic adaptation. His effectiveness does not make him whole, only functional in narrow conditions. And the introduction of his brother reinforces this idea rather than undercutting it. Where Christian narrows the world to survive it, his brother adapts to it, proving that the same violence and training can produce radically different outcomes depending on psychological wiring. The result is a character study disguised as a thriller, unsettling precisely because it suggests that competence can be born from damage rather than health.
- ርልዪረJune 5, 2025Excellent acting by Ben affleck. His ability to traverse in this movie and convince us he’s a person with mental illness was phenomenal. The message was also good, showing us that people with mental health issues can have special abilities. Particularly useful in todays work force. There’s definitely a stigma around people with mental illness and being handicapped when it comes to working. Even though this characters has Austism he’s able to use it to his advantage and successfully balance his double life as a hit man. Despite the unrealisticness of it, the message is strongly conveyed. I also enjoyed how the relationship between Ben and the woman unfolded. She was attracted to his uniqueness and I think his mental illness played a part in that. He was still able to express love despite the restrictions his conditioned had on him. And she felt it. The romantic value was subtle and not emphasized, but still was nice to enjoy.
