Wow, what a film ..... This is an excellent film, loads of action, loads of comedy and is just truly awesome. The comedy ranges from very subtle corner of the eye stuff to out and out crude belly laughs. The action and car chases are brilliant. This is a must watch film. I am just sorry I have not seen it before. It is the Dogs B*****Ks (Good) and not B*****ks (Bad) 🤣😁 Watch the film to understand that last line 😁🤣😂
Common Sense Media
Nell Minow
Missing: plot, dialogue, characters.
Fort Worth Star-Telegram/DFW.com
Scott Von Doviak
Excessive, profane, packed with cartoonish violence and comic-strip characters.
Salon.com
Jeff Stark
Director Yu seems far more interested in gross-out humor than in showing us well-thought stunts or a car chase that we haven't seen 10,000 times.
Village Voice
Justine Elias
Dull-witted caper.
Ebert & Roeper
Richard Roeper
This thing is just garbage.
Washington Post
Desson Thomson
Stars Samuel L. Jackson in the worst role of his career.
Washington Post
Stephen Hunter
Ridiculous, dispiriting and ... coarse.
Seattle Times
Ted Fry
After all the gunplay, explosions, foul-mouthed witticisms, and bloody carnage that fuel this amusingly forgettable trifle, Formula 51 is fundamentally about Samuel L. Jackson in a kilt.
San Francisco Chronicle
Edward Guthmann
It isn't simple bad taste that Formula 51 deals in, but a total vacuum of feeling.
Detroit News
Susan Stark
The fun of the movie is the chance it affords to watch Jackson, who also served as executive producer, take his smooth, shrewd, powerful act abroad.
Detroit Free Press
John Monaghan
Formula 51 promises a new kind of high but delivers the same old bad trip.
Denver Post
Steven Rosen
Long before it's over, you'll be thinking of 51 ways to leave this loser.
Chicago Sun-Times
Roger Ebert
A fourth-rate Pulp Fiction.
Boston Globe
Ty Burr
Formula 51 is bloody and bloody funny, and Jackson and Carlyle make the best salt-and-pepper team since Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte knocked heads in 48 HRS., but ultimately the movie can't find a way out of its own dead end.
Arizona Republic
Bill Muller
Jackson shamefully strolls through this mess with a smug grin, inexplicably wearing a kilt and carrying a bag of golf clubs over one shoulder.
New York Post
Lou Lumenick
Arguably the year's silliest and most incoherent movie.
Philadelphia Inquirer
Steven Rea
What ensues are much blood-splattering, mass drug-induced bowel evacuations, and none-too-funny commentary on the cultural distinctions between Americans and Brits.
Newsday
John Anderson
Formula isn't about anything but being aggressively cinematic, something Yu is very good at while leaving plot, character and structural soundness to others so inclined.
