Rather than concentrating entirely on the climb, Jennifer Peedom explores Tenzing's early life, his relationship with the mountain, and his struggle to be treated as a full member of the expedition. Strong production credentials and an interesting historical perspective, although the screenplay follows some familiar biopic conventions.

- Derek3d agoI highly recommend Tenzing! I love mountaineering films, and this is honestly one of the best I've seen. Right up there with Everest (2015). It tells the true story of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, the first two climbers to reach the summit of Mount Everest. The filmmaking is absolutely incredible, the story is beautifully told, and Tom Hiddleston and Willem Dafoe are in it too! It's the perfect Sunday movie. I've always loved watching historical films on Sundays for some reason, and this one really hit the spot. Such an inspiring and emotional story. Not gonna lie, it got me too! 😭 Definitely worth watching!

- josi.victoriaOctober 19, 2026I'm a climber, so it speaks to me. If you are not a climber, you would have to be deaf for this achievement not reach you in some manner. Perhaps not a 5/5 for a movie, but for the story of our ceaseless abilities as humans it's so perfect.
