Ben Cronin has it all: the admiration of his many friends, a terrific girlfriend, and he's on the fast-track to an athletic scholarship. Ben's rock-solid, promising future and romance are turned upside-down with the arrival of Madison Bell. Madison, the new girl in town, quickly sets her sights on the impressionable Ben. While their first few meetings are innocent enough, the obsessive and seductive Madison wants more ... much more.

Really good movie. Good plot that keeps you intrigued

Swimfan is a thriller that never quite rises above its own clichés, delivering a story so predictable that it feels assembled from leftover plot points of better films. The comparison to Fatal Attraction isn’t just inevitable—it highlights how much this movie leans on familiar beats without adding anything fresh. The plot is riddled with holes, relying on contrivances and leaps in logic that make it hard to stay invested. It’s clear the film was positioned as a box‑office grab, showcasing a young, marketable cast rather than building a compelling narrative around them. While the actors do what they can, the script gives them little depth to work with, and the tension never reaches the intensity the genre demands. In the end, Swimfan feels like a missed opportunity: a glossy teen thriller that promises danger and obsession but delivers only a shallow, forgettable imitation.

Swimfan is to be fair a very watchable & unboring; 80 minute turn your brain off popcorn 🍿 movie; but the clunky editing is what brings the movie down though, which is a shame because there's so much to like about Swimfan!! There's no throughline here and the editing in the last 20 mins of the film in particular was very off. I thought how it all wrapped up was odd; it was as if some footage from the film had been lost. That's how it looks and comes across it just felt like a uncompleted project. There 💯 were a couple of scenes missing in that last act, apart from that I had no other issues with Swimfan. You can see that Swimfan had a lot of potential there. And I absolutely love the tinted blue lighting cinematography, it really matches with the films overall tone & atmosphere.

Fatal Attraction in high school with worse plotting. Decent cinematography in spite of some bad choices. Just watch Fatal Attraction.
