- Adam SmithAugust 27, 2025They almost had something special here... Solid, tense 80s coming-of-age mystery with likeable characters through most of the runtime. And then, the ending shits the bed. For no reason, important, main characters disappear and leave the others to their undeserved conclusion. The tone is wrong, the outcome is wrong... And honestly, in a worse movie that wouldn't be so bad. Here though, something really nice was spoiled for no reason. Thematic and tense for over an hour, then nothing but disappointment. Turn the movie off when the kids go to sleep after the big reveal.
- ZokkiieApril 30, 2026Feels like one of those endless summer bike-riding days where everything seems chill on the surface, but there’s this constant sense something’s off. Big Spielberg energy with the kids’ friendships and sense of adventure, just pushed into darker territory. The vibe is probably the best part—great music, strong atmosphere, and the cast actually feels like a real group of friends, which helps a lot. It does slow down a bit in spots, but it still builds to something that sticks with you after. Definitely one of those movies that sits in your head a bit longer than you expect.
