Spinal Tap II: The End Continues Ratings & Reviews
- Dan S TurpinOctober 12, 2025Comedy sequels once again DO NOT WORK. Its great to see Paul McCartney and Elton John in small roles but its mostly lifeless. Jokes are few and far. They all need to go back to BITCH SCHOOL.
- mattathiasOctober 14, 2025I don't get the hate. I loved it. Especially the banter between the guitarists which I can very much relate to!
- Jacob O’NealOctober 7, 2025I hate to say it, as much as I love the original, but this movie bored me. The few things that mildly chuckle worthy felt like retreads from 1984’s far superior film. The songs were not good…well, the new ones anyway. Harry Shearer had very little to do in the movie. It was mostly focused on Michael McKean and Christopher Guest. I thought the concept was good enough and the storyline with the drummer could have been interesting. Instead everything felt dull and lifeless, much like director Rob Reiner’s career for the last 20 years. I feel bad just ragging on the movie. There were a few moments here and there where it looked like it could come close to its former glory, but then nothing much happens with the joke. There’s no “lick my love pump” or “these go to 11” moments but some of the dialogue has some lightly funny bits. It’s sad. I really wanted to like this movie. I hoped for a return to greatness for Reiner. I wanted to see a great sequel from three comedic actors I’ve loved since my childhood. I wanted something that felt real and funny like the first movie. Although it felt real, like a band you remember fondly and you’d watch a doc about their return, it didn’t feel funny. The real and the funny were so perfectly blended in the first with them not finding the stage (really happened to a band) or so many other moments. This one felt like Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster where you’re watching Spinal Tap go through therapy. I wish I felt different.
- BeeVee233d agoA fun, nostalgic, guest-star-stuffed 80 minutes. Any longer would have been too much
- Aaron SladeSeptember 20, 202540 years too late to be really any good. It's nowhere near as funny or as good as the original.
- robavinceOctober 17, 2025Almost as good as the original with some surprising cameos!
- CaluminaOctober 25, 2025Spinal Tap is back!!!
- hgwy407October 24, 2025About half of what the original was but still, that’s a great thing
- Andy Davidson | folknhell.comOctober 20, 2025A welcome visit to old friends, but it doesn't add anything new to the Tap story. Including laughs.
- steve1702October 8, 2025Didn’t see the point in a sequel. Very disappointing , unfunny and not a touch on the original.
- chuckchefOctober 5, 2025Some good laughs, great improv. Like most sequels, does'nt come close to the original
- KinoMarinoOctober 5, 2025Spinal Tap 2 feels like an unnecessary encore to a classic that didn’t need a follow up. While the original managed to capture lightning in a bottle with its razor sharp satire and endlessly quotable gags, the sequel comes across as a middle of the road effort with fewer jokes and much less bite. It never quite recaptures the spontaneous absurdity that made the band legendary, leaving it feeling more like a safe reunion special than a must see comedy.
- cultfilmlikerSeptember 15, 2025Nessun dorma “‘Fuck off. -Sincerely Yours’” Polymers & Polyamory ❤️ The Stonehenge props in the crowd cracked me up Incredible ending, great credits The huge cameos were actually good imo I liked it quite a bit! I’m tired of unfairly maligned sequels! Watched at Warren Regal East Added to 2025 Ranked
- falkerSeptember 11, 2025If the original went to 11, this one goes to about 6. It's probably difficult attempting to return to the format you created (and hundreds of others hhave been influenced by) and expecting as good as return as the original. It's not laugh out loud funny very often, but it's an enjoyable watch. Like hanging out with your cool uncle who's a bit slower, and isn't as invested as he used to be. Still, I could watch Marty interview Nigel for three more hours.
