This is a surprisingly engrossing documentary. Audiences outside the super-small sommelier community might expect to watch a dry, fact-oriented lecture about the superiority of the holders of the world's most prestigious wine qualification. But instead, you are met by an interesting, almost heart-rending tale of a man's determination to reach the pinnacle of an old, exclusive career. Thoroughly enjoyable, and surprisingly engaging, if you're even slightly curious how your favourite restaurant's sommelier acquired their encyclopaedic recall of all things grape-related, this is well worth your time.

Boring, storyless, self-celebrating, so far from the European culture of wine. Probably good only for the average American audience…
