Young writer Richard Collier is met on the opening night of his first play by an old lady who begs him to "Come back to me". Mystified, he tries to find out about her, and learns that she is a famous stage actress from the early twentieth century. Becoming more and more obsessed with her, by self-hypnosis he manages to travel back in time—where he meets her.

Somewhere in Time is not a film for everyone; it demands an audience willing to embrace its dreamy, romantic fantasy premises. For those who can, it is a touching, memorable, and beautiful experience that has endured as a classic love story, proving that the power of a heartfelt narrative can often outweigh technical or critical flaws. It is highly recommended for dreamers and lovers of classic romance.

A very well made romantic fantasy film starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. Unabashedly slushy and romantic with a slight sci-fi edge. Reeve is sublime as a fish out of water (well, out of time).

Most time travel movies do a good job of suspending disbelief, this movie fails to deliver on premise scientific practicality, and it’s basically a two day romance, we are supposed to believe in.

I didn’t expect a classic film to leave this kind of impact on me. The movie tells a unique love story that goes beyond time itself. What really caught my attention is how they used a simple yet fascinating concept of time travel, not through machines, but through the power of the mind and belief.

Very intriguing, as the concept of time travel always is. Determination of Reeves character to find answers was riveting, as was his success in going back. Ending was initially sad, but turned out to be happy
