Mocná čarodějnice Ravenna se lstí vetřela do přízně krále prosperující a mocné říše, který z ní záhy udělá královnu a pak zemře. Ravenně ale podle proroctví kouzelného zrcadla stojí ve štěstí nevlastní dcera Sněhurka a posedlost vlastní krásou, kterou by si ráda uchovala navěky. Všechny problémy by vyřešila Sněhurčina smrt, jenže dívka právě uprchla z domácího vězení do Temného lesa, odkud se ještě nikdo živý nevrátil. Ale královna potřebuje mít jistotu, a tak si najme odvážného lovce, který dostane za úkol ji vystopovat a přivést zpátky. Jeho sebevražednou misi komplikují nejen podivuhodní obyvatelé, kteří les obývají, ale také to, že Sněhurka není jen tak obyčejná holka. Klidu na práci lovci nepřidává ani statečný princ, jenž pro ni má slabost už od dětství, a hlavně partička sedmi trpaslíků, kteří sice nejsou tak roztomilí jako Prófa a Stydlín, zato se umí náramně ohánět se sekyrou...
