Smile 2 Ratings & Reviews
- ScottOctober 20, 2024Lady Raven would have known what to do. Addressed a few of the issues I had with the first movie. Dropped some of the more dramatic elements around isolation, loneliness, and mental health that were made problematic by the end and leaned more into the silly goofy loose smiling It Follows monster. Very confident step into franchise territory that I'm actually excited for because the end sets up a literal world of possibilities.
- cultfilmlikerApril 7, 2026This woman truly did not need the extra anxiety… She’s got a lot going on!! People felt like I misjudged this on my first watch so I gave it another chance. I do love Dylan Gelula! 👯 I could stare at her jumpscare backlit ghostface every night 💕 (too far?) anyways she wasn’t in the film enough Good film for 4K! A lot of beautifully lit shots of gorgeous people! The main subplot is very similar to The Moment and it’s curious! The crazed fan felt very Perfect Blue lol Only thing I remembered about the film was the ending - it holds up! Pretty sure Darius is also a creepy cartel recruiter in Law & Order. And there’s the recurring charismatic defense attorney! ….it does lull a bit in the middle tho…. A broken freezer latch that won’t open from the inside; always the fun character! It felt like the curse had a lot more supernatural powers in this one. Oh well jt makes the visuals more fun!
- mattyvxApril 5, 2026Absolutely love the originality of this film, which has its share of jump scares and gore but takes the watcher down an uncomfortable path under the spotlight of fame, manipulation, loneliness and trauma. Brilliant acting, pacing and storytelling which doesn't bore or tire for the runtime and has a great soundtrack.
- thereelvoiceMarch 28, 2025Smile 2 delivers more of the same albeit with better fashion and catchy pop songs. Fans of the first entry will find this film entertaining but undoubtedly it will feel like a retread. Naomi Scott delivers a strong performance as pop star Skye Riley and that alone is worth the one time watch.
- TanalienNovember 2, 2024Smile 2 is an escalating staircase of tension. Starting off with a remarkable opening, I leaned into this film. Finn delivers a captivating journey, with the tension in his story rising like a Shepard Tone, a sound that feels like it can ascend in pitch forever. Eventually though, the film demands a fitting conclusion that halts the tone. That is why it is unfortunate that the ending of Smile 2 is unsatisfying.
- Doc WormFebruary 21, 2026AAAHHH!!!!!! Oh- just a bottle of Voss™️ water. 😮💨 Slickly shot and well produced with a few spooky parts throughout. The start of the movie is awesome and instantly had me hooked but once moved onto Skye Riley’s character it lost steam pretty quick. This is mostly due to the pacing of the film itself. Her character is well fleshed out and Naomi Scott gives a great performance. Starts picking back up towards the end though and goes completely bonkers. Overall pretty uneven but a super fun watch.
- Paulo Coelho AlvesNovember 24, 2024Bigger and bloodier than the original but not necessarily better. Trades in the creepier mood of the original for gore and set pieces - some of which are undeniably impressive! Naomi Scott is a revelation and plays the main role perfectly. The pop star angle is interesting but feels like a missed opportunity to dig deeper into the themes, all the more frustrating because of the long runtime that’s otherwise wasted in… at the end of it, you’re not really sure where.
